If I had to choose my absolutely favorite destination, I would choose Kandersteg-- this little village in Switzerland is heaven on earth; winter or summer.

Fantastic scenery and a reasonably easy walk

The Isle of Wight is an island just off the southern coast of England, with a long and interesting history.  The most famous residents were Queen Victoria (and her family), and Alfred Lord Tennyson.

One of our favorite places to stay!

After hiking the Isle of Wight, we stayed in London for a few days.  Aside from the normal tourist destinations, we discovered a new favorite:   Neal's Yard cheese shop in Borough Market.  We first discovered Neal's Yard cheddar at Zingerman's deli, and immediately fell in love.

Interesting tip:  cheese is a great souvenir!  As long as it is aged, you can declare it-- and the custom's guys don't even raise an eyebrow.  There is no extra duty or limit (like with wine)-- and it is appreciated by all cheese lovers!
